What is ChemITrust AI

ChemITrust AI is a browser-based workspace that puts four chemistry tools behind one login, so the work around the science stops happening in four separate applications.

Ask a chemistry question, dictate an observation at the bench, draw a structure for a report, and find last Tuesday's run - without switching tools between each one. Everything runs in the browser on the app subdomain: nothing to install on a laptop or an instrument PC, and nothing to get through a software approval process first.

It is built for chemists, researchers, students, educators and lab professionals. Every account starts on the free tier, with no credit card, and the free tier reaches all four tools.

Key Terminology

Terms that appear throughout this documentation and inside the workspace.

Confidence rating: The rating the chat attaches to a researched answer, describing how strong the evidence it found was - high, medium or low - together with the reason for it.
Database-grounded answer: An answer built on retrieved chemical database records, such as PubChem, rather than on the model's own recall. Where the data does not support an answer, it says so.
Project: A saved piece of MolCaptiv8er work under your account. How many you can keep at once scales with your plan.
Vault: Your SpectraVault storage. Files are stored and returned byte-for-byte, never re-encoded.
Add-on: A capability bought alongside a plan rather than included in it. ChemVoice is available as an add-on, and is bundled with the Max plan.

Getting started

1. Create a Free Account

Students registering with an academic email address are eligible for the discounted Student plan, which carries the same capabilities as Plus.

2. Open It in the Browser

Everything runs in the browser on the app subdomain - no download, no local install, no instrument-PC software to get approved first. Signing in from the marketing site forwards you straight through to the workspace.

3. Pick the Tool for the Job

Chat for a question, ChemVoice for an observation, MolCaptiv8er for a structure, SpectraVault for a file. They share one account and one browser tab, so moving between them does not mean moving between applications.

Chemistry-focused AI chat for the questions that interrupt a method - a compatibility, a calculation, a troubleshooting step.

Ask in plain language about reactions, mechanisms, calculations, instruments and lab methods. It handles chemistry rather than general conversation, and researched answers are checked against chemical databases.

Choose your model: ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini
Researched answers carry a confidence rating and the reason for it
Compound lookups are grounded in PubChem data, not guessed
A low rating is a prompt to check the underlying data yourself

High confidence: The retrieved evidence agreed and held up under review. Reasonable to work from, with the underlying data shown whenever you want to check it.
Medium confidence: Usable, but check the underlying data before the answer informs a decision, a method or a report.
Low confidence: Thin or unvetted evidence. That does not make the answer wrong - only unconfirmed. Anything leaning on a live web search is capped here, because live results are not reviewed.

Instrument formats: JDX, DX, SPC, XY, mzML, mzXML, RAW, NMR, FID and CDF.
General formats: CSV, TXT and PDF, for datasets, method notes and reports.
Integrity: Files are stored and returned byte-for-byte - never re-encoded - so an archived run still opens in the vendor software that wrote it.
Finding a file: Search by file name; rename after upload at any time.
Storage: Available space scales with your plan - up to 5 GB on Max.

The Free Tier

Every account starts free, with no credit card. It reaches all four tools, and it is enough to put them against real work before you decide whether a paid tier is worth it.

What the Paid Plans Add

Paid tiers raise usage allowances and unlock the confidence measuring tool, database-grounded answers, and the calculators, simulators and periodic table. All paid plans let you choose between ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.

Plus: For individual scientists using ChemITrust AI regularly. Adds the confidence measuring tool, database-grounded answers, 40+ calculators, simulators and the periodic table, and technical support.
Premium: For heavy research and professional use. Everything in Plus, with increased MolCaptiv8er usage, increased SpectraVault space, and 3x the usage of Plus.
Max: Everything in Premium, with ChemVoice bundled at no extra cost, 7.5x the usage of Plus, up to 100 MolCaptiv8er projects and 5 GB of SpectraVault storage.
Student: The same capabilities as Plus, at a student price. Requires an account registered with an academic email address.

Frequently Asked

Do I need to install anything?

No. All of it runs in the browser. There is nothing to install on a laptop or an instrument PC, and nothing to get through a software approval process first.

Can I try the tools before paying?

Yes. Every account starts on the free tier with no credit card required, and the free tier reaches all four tools. Paid plans raise usage allowances and unlock the confidence measuring tool, database-grounded answers, and the calculators, simulators and periodic table.

Which AI model does the chat use?

You choose. Paid plans let you pick between ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini for a given question. Whichever you choose, your chats, prompts and uploaded files are not used to train ChemITrust AI models, and are not permitted to train third-party models either.

What does a confidence rating actually mean?

When the chat researches a question, it rates the evidence it found and shows that rating with the answer, along with the reason. High means the retrieved evidence agreed and held up under review. Low means thin or unvetted evidence - a starting point rather than an answer. Anything leaning on a live web search is capped at low, because live results are not reviewed.

Is my dictation audio stored?

No. ChemVoice processes raw audio in real time and does not store it, temporarily or permanently. The transcript is saved to your account so you can use it, and you can delete transcripts at any time.

Will SpectraVault change my instrument files?

No. Files are stored and returned byte-for-byte - the same file you uploaded, not a re-encoded copy - so an archived run still opens in the vendor software that wrote it. SpectraVault stores, searches and returns files; today it does not parse or interpret them.
